Summer 2017 Arena Marketing Intern - Charlotte Hornets (Charlotte, NC)

Position overview

Spectrum Center/ Hornets Sports & Entertainment is looking for a college senior or graduate student to serve as an intern for the Arena Marketing department. The position is unpaid and the you are required to receive academic credit. Hours vary – we need you to be available for most arena events throughout the semester that may occur on evenings and/or weekends, including Arena Events and Hornets games. You will rotate throughout the department in the areas of administrative coordination, event management, arena booking and arena marketing.This unpaid internship requires 20-40 hours per week.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting with daily operations of the Arena Marketing Department
  • You will assist with department administrative duties: maintaining supply orders, senior executive support, inventory checklists/tracking, etc.
  • Assisting with pre-event and event day operations associated with all Spectrum Center events
  • Assisting with social media management and tracking, development of social media ideas
  • You will assist with event marketing activations including planning, implementation, execution, tracking, etc.
  • Assist with management of day of show responsibilities
  • Assist with implementation of marketing strategies, promotions and campaigns
  • Aiding in the development of reporting requirements to determine ROI and overall effectiveness of campaigns. Will assist in the recap process for all events.
  • Conducting market research relative to tour schedules and timeline, venue information, artist demographic, background and potential sales history
  • Researches opposing market schedules aligned or in comparison to internal bookings
  • Assist with hospitality needs for clients and executives
  • All other duties as assigned

Summer 2017 Creative/Social Media Internship- Interactive Media - Charlotte Hornets (Charlotte, NC 28202)

Hornets Sports & Entertainment seeks an Interactive Media intern who will be assisting with:

  •  Creating graphics, images and/or other digital assets to be used on the Hornets social media accounts
  • Shooting photos using digital camera and shooting video
  • Copywriting and transcription of interviews, recaps and previews
  • Assist with special projects, as assigned by the Interactive Media Department.

The ideal candidate must have great communication skills, be professional and be able to multi-task. Applicant must be able to work on PC and Mac platforms. Creativity is a must. Candidate must be a quick learner, enjoy a fast paced environment and be able to work a variety of hours. Experience working with Photoshop and Illustrator is a must and knowledge of HTML is a plus. Any experience working for a team, athletic department or with a sporting event is beneficial.

Pursuit of Web Design, Graphic Design, Social Media or Sports Communication degree is preferred.

This is a non-paid internship and is requiring the individual to receive academic credit. The candidate should be, but not limited to, a Junior, Senior or graduate level student.

The candidate will have to be in the office between 30-40 hours a week. The intern will also have to attend some Hornets basketball games.

Position Overview

The Business/Arena Marketing Analytics and Database Marketing intern will be interning in our offices here in Charlotte, NC. The primary responsibility of this intern will be to assist the Business Intelligence and Arena Marketing department’s needs with database and event specific analysis.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Interns will learn to work cooperatively in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment, while enjoying the excitement of working within a professional sports organization. This is an unpaid internship requiring 30-40 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execution of pre-production schedule including video & audio editing as well as graphic design.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the production team.
  • Pre-production organizing and planning for off-site events and community relations based initiatives.
  • Execution of production orientated tasks leading up to and on game days.
  • Expected to work every home game.
  • Aid in the post-production process of exporting and uploading videos to team’s website, authoring DVDs, etc.

The Greensboro Swarm is seeking a hard-working, outgoing, and dedicated individual to become an integral part of our  NBA Development League team. The Business Operations Intern will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the department through hands-on involvement with the President of the Swarm. Position Overview

The Game Entertainment Intern will be working in our Greensboro office. Your primary responsibility will be assisting the Manager of Marketing and Game Presentation in day-to-day activities including but not limited to advertising, event activation, and game promotions.

  • Game day materials including: writing scripts, game day formats, work schedules, and game day assignments
  • Organizing National Anthems, Color Guards, Halftime Performances, and other per-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment
  • Maintaining entertainment calendar
  • Attending all preseason and regular season games
  • Creating entertainment teams’ information sheets
  • Providing instruction and direction to ensure all contests, performances and sponsor elements are properly executed
  • Attending/coordinating additional team events as necessary
  • Coordinating rehearsal schedules and secure rehearsal space
  • Assisting with coordination of auditions and photo shoots
  • Inventory of all game day props, prizes and giveaways
  • Assisting with all in-game promotions including: live features, crowd prompts, and music
  • Assisting with social media platforms

Summer 2017 Ticket Sales Intern - Greensboro Swarm (Greensboro, NC)

Position Overview

This is a non-paid internship and requires the individual to receive academic credit. This intern will need to attend Greensboro Swarm events and need to be in the office 20-40 hours a week. This is an unpaid position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will be assisting with fan engagement events
  • Assisting the Ticket Sales Representatives with daily activities
  • Participating in daily and weekly sales/career development training sessions
  • You will have hands-on experience in sales (via phone and in-person), public relations, marketing, event planning, customer service, promotions, and business management

  • Research and analysis skills and experience
  • Marketing experience preferred
