Web Developer, Interactive Media - Charlotte Bobcats (Charlotte, NC)

This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining all company related websites including but not limited to enhancements, trouble-shooting and production. Position will assist with overall development priorities by coordinating with other departments including, but not limited to Creative Services, Team and Arena Marketing, Ticket Sales and Services, Partnerships and Ticket Operations.

• Perform hands-on technical troubleshooting for all company websites and social media sites on a daily basis
• Update and publish all content, both HTML and documents, for all company websites
• Must be able to assist with long-term plan for the company's website development and presence, including standards and guidelines for content based on business goals and input from stakeholders
• Ensure a consistent look and feel across all company websites by promoting uniform fonts, formatting, icons, images and layout, and creating appropriate templates to assist content authors
• Conceptualize, design, and code front-end responsive websites
• Take designs from Photoshop mockups and hand code site pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Build sites to work across browsers and device platforms (desktop, tablet, smartphone)
• Research and apply best-practice web techniques for clean HTML, image optimization, and responsive/adaptive behavior
• Create clean and valid code for modularity and reusability
• Participate in the development and integration of graphical and multimedia components into the web, including audio and video, with due regard paid to appropriate compression techniques, resolution, sizes, color maps and depths to ensure high quality and speed of delivery
• Develop, implement, and enforce Web appropriate use and privacy policies
• Address all internal/external customer reports of website functional difficulties. Find, diagnose and fix website problems, including broken links (both internal and external), typographical errors and formatting inconsistencies
• Identify and implement website presence and promotion opportunities, such as search engine registration, optimization and establishing pointer links from other relevant web sites.
• Create and maintain an archive for website templates and images
• Create and maintain a reference archive for older versions of the website and its content.
• Assist supervisor in writing specs for and managing team site development priorities
• Help supervisor in developing functional and business specifications for new development and draft spec documents
• Interface with Information Technology department to ensure mutual awareness of activities and software/hardware developments
• Assist in video and photo capturing and video production
• Other duties as assigned by director

(To perform the job successfully, the candidate should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this job.)
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
• Experience with responsive design to build a single site for desktop and mobile devices
• Experience with current Internet standards, including cross-browser styling and optimizations (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari)
• Deep expertise with current front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience with CSS preprocessors, such as Compass and SASS
• Experience with graceful degradation and progressive enhancement across browsers and devices
• Familiar with social media APIs include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest
• Ability to integrate third-party components, such as live chat and marketing promotions
• Strong expertise with Photoshop
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices
• Expertise with testing and debugging
• Strong understanding of SEO, advertising, and analytics
• Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
• Planning and organizing, can prioritize work activities; uses time efficiently
• Detail oriented
• Adaptability – adapts to change in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to handle frequent changes

• Strong understanding of other Internet programming languages
